260714 Aviation Devastation
I can honestly tell you that as a Malaysian, it has been a very tragic year for us. Although none of my family members were on board any of the flights that have either crashed or gone missing, I do know of friends who had family or friends on board those very flights. That being said, I have seen the pain in their eyes and the confusion within their hearts as they question themselves, 'What went wrong?'
If you are clueless as to what has been happening in the Aviation industry regarding the plane crashes or disappearances, here's what I can help you with so far:
8 March 2014
Malaysian Airlines MH 370
Until today, no one knows what happened to MH 370. It remains a mystery but the flight was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The 239 passengers on board remain missing.
17 July 2014
Malaysian Airlines MH 17
This flight was an international flight travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and crashed on the said date. The plane is believed to have been shot down with a Buk-surface-to-Air missile. The airline lost contact near the Ukraine-Russian border. Who actually shot this plane down? Nobody knows yet as both parties seem to blame each other. All 283 passengers and 15 crew members passed away.
23rd July 2014
TransAsia Airways Flight 222
The plane was travelling from Taiwan's southern city of Kaohsiung to Penghu. Although fingers have been pointed towards the storm that occurred then, the true cause remains a mystery. There were a total of 58 passengers on board, including the crew members. However, the good news is that there are survivors, 10 survivors to be exact.
24th July 2014
Air Algeria AH 5017
There are no survivors for this crash that happened in Mali. A total of 116 people were on board and the plane lost contact with the Air Traffic Controllers after the pilots reported that there was a severe storm going about.

That's a summarized version of the flights so far. I know I'm missing one but I cannot seem to pinpoint the exact details so I shall refrain from saying anything until further proof has been given. The details regarding the summaries are taken from various sources but definitely reliable, e.g. CNN, BBC, Wikipedia, & etc.
To all those who have been affected by these incidents, my thoughts and prayers go to you. I can only imagine the pain and confusion you feel.
As for the survivors, I wish them all the best in moving on with life as the trauma of these incidents might have impacted them deeply.
As for everyone else, it is very important to not spread false rumors regarding these issues because the social media is a dangerous place. Any wrong information given can cause confusion to others. Imagine the friends and families of those on board those flights, they already have to suffer the loss of their loved ones, do not make it any harder.
If you happen to be lucky enough to be alive and reading this, I would advice you to appreciate life. This doesn't mean you can live life recklessly (#YOLO) but rather, to live life by showing people kindness and love. If something were to ever happen to you, the people closest to you will be the ones who suffer the most. Therefore, tell them how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Stop treating people cruelly and learn to be kind to people, before it's too late.
Spread the love, not hate.
